Praying Mantis

    • Green/Yellow Bumpy Chenille Stems ( #2205-01) or Bright Green Bumpy Chenille Stems
      ( #2290-10)
    • 1 Lime Green Pom Pom (1 in.) ( #2196-01)
    • Lime Foam Sheet ( #15200-39)
    • Yellow Foam Sheet ( #15200-06)
    • Wiggle Eyes (15 mm) ( #7043-55)
    • Crafty Glue ( #9145) or low-temp. glue gun
    • Ruler
    • Scissors
    • Tracing paper

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Cut a piece of green/yellow bumpy chenille in half.
  2. Take one piece of chenille and bend in half, then bend ends to make arms.
  3. Twist arms around middle of other chenille stem as shown.
  4. Take two chenille stems and cut one inch off each stem. Then fold each in half, and twist each around bumpy chenille piece to make legs.
  5. Cut out foam wing templates, then glue yellow pieces to green pieces.
  6. Glue and press foam body pieces together to complete wings/lower body.
  7. Bend legs as shown to make joints and feet.
  8. Glue pom to tip of top chenille piece to make head.
  9. Glue wiggle eyes to pom.
  10. Use left-over chenille from legs to glue onto pom for antennae.
