Sun and Moon Magnets

  • Materials Needed:
    • Bright Foam Sheets ( #15205-01)
    • Blue Foam Sheet ( #15200-34)
    • White Foam Sheet ( #15200-01)
    • Gemstones ( #2297-01)
    • 2 White Pom Poms (1/4 in.) ( #1572-01)
    • Magnets ( #4775)
    • Scissors and/or craft knife
    • Ultra fine black permanent marker
    • Ultra fine blue or green permanent marker (for eyes)
    • Thick craft glue or low-temp. glue gun

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Use patterns to trace and cut out foam shapes.
  2. SUN:
    1. Glue purple moon shape to yellow sun circle. Draw on details as shown on patterns.
    2. Glue yellow curly shapes to back of yellow circle. Glue orange points between yellow curly shapes (see picture). Glue small orange triangles to the top of yellow curly shapes, trim as necessary to make fit.
    3. Glue teal circle to back of sun.
    4. Stick gemstones on cheeks. Glue magnets to back.
  3. DRAGONFLY:
    1. Glue blue circle to teal circle.
    2. Glue foam pieces of dragonfly together, starting with the tail, then center body, then head. Turn over and glue the 4 wings to center body. Allow glue to set, then glue to blue circle as shown in picture.
    3. Glue two white pom poms to head for eyes, glue magnets to back.
