INSTRUCTIONS
- FLOWER POT: Squeeze gold paint into paint container. Dip sponge lightly into paint. To blot, press sponge onto scrap paper then, sponge lightly on lower part of pot. Repeat until lower part is patterned as desired. Paint rim of pot solid gold. Let dry.
- STEM: Cut or break craft stick to 3 in. and paint gold. Let dry.
- ROSES AND LEAVES: Using pencil, trace leaf patterns on green foam and strip patterns for roses on red foam. Cut out 27 red rose strips and 16 green leaves (Note: You may need to cut a few more roses, depending on how closely you glue them to the ball).
To form a rosebud, roll 1 red strip into a tight coil. Make sure flat bottom surface is even. Apply a dab of glue to end of strip and press to hold coil together. Repeat with remaining strips. - ROSEBUD BALL: Set aside 1 rosebud and 2 leaves for stem. Glue flat bottoms of four rosebuds in a close circle around bottom hole of wood ball. Apply glue to the end of the craft stick. Insert stick centered between roses and against wood ball. Continue to glue rosebuds very close together on wood ball until covered. Glue leaves between rosebuds in a random pattern (Tip: apply glue sparingly to the ends of leaves).
- STEM AND FLOWER POT: Glue styrofoam scrap into flower pot. Trace and cut out 1 green foam circle. Glue foam onto plastic styrofoam to cover. Using craft knife, make a small cut in center of foam for craft stick end. Glue topiary stick securely into pot for a total height of 5 in.
- BOW: Make a 2-layer, 3-in. wide bow; wrap wire around center. Glue bow to craft stick. Glue reserved rosebud and leaves to center of bow. Download the template for this project HERE.
