4th of July Wreath

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut two ft. of string.
2. Decide where the top of the wreath will be. Place the silk flowers along the bottom half. After sectioning off the bottom half, then find the middle of the bottom half-that will be the center.
3. To apply the silk flowers, cut stems of flowers with the heavy-duty cutters, leaving approximately 1-2 in. Apply hot glue to the stem and angle stem so that it sinks easily into wreath. Place the largest silk flower in the center and let the flowers get progressively smaller and thinned out as you work away from the midpoint.
4. Near the bigger flowers, place 1 apple on one side and 1 on the other side. Use a floral pick. Cut off wire with wire cutters and stab apple with the pick. Put hot glue on “stem” and insert into wreath.
5. Make a bow. To start the bow, leave 5 in. from the bottom, twist and pinch, make a loop, gather in the center, twist and make a loop on the other side. Repeat until there are 4 loops on each side. Cut with scissors 5 in. from bow.
6. Using a 28 gauge tie wire, bend wire in half (like a hair pin) and place over the center of the bow where it has been gathered. Twist the wire several times on the backside. Tuck in the bow in the center of the flower arrangement and twist the wire on the back. Fluff loops of bow so they peek out in between the flowers.
7. Paint 7-8 stars red, white and blue. Use hot glue to attach stars to wreath. On either side, where the flowers end, place the stars in a cluster of 3. Place any extra stars tucked into flower arrangement. Insert wreath hook into center top back of wreath and hang.
