SPECIAL STITCH: js (jump stitch): Draw up a lp in next st of previous row, below the row you are working - 2 lps
now on hook, yo and draw through both lps on hook. Do not work in the current row behind js. This will create the zigzag pattern on dress.
BODICE
Starting at neck edge with yellow and size G hook (or size required for gauge), ch 21.
ROW 1 (right side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each rem ch across (20 Sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 2: * Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * across (30 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 3 (armhole shaping): Sc in first 4 sc, ch 3, sk next 7 sc (for right armhole — fold skipped sts toward you), sc in next 8 sc, ch 3, sk next 7 sc (for left armhole — fold skipped sts toward you), sc in last 4 sc (16 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 4: Sc in each sc and ch across (22 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROWS 5-6: Sc in each sc across (22 sc). Ch 1, turn. At end of Row 6, ch 3 in place of ch 1, turn.
SKIRT

RND 2: Dc in each dc around, join (110 dc). Ch 3, do not turn.

RND 4: (Sc, ch 3) in each dc around, join to 1st sc (110 ch-3 sps). Do not ch, do not turn.
RND 5: (Sl st, ch 1, sc, ch 4) in first ch-3 sp, (sc, ch 4) in each rem ch-3 sp around, join (110 ch-4sps). Finish off, weave in ends. Lower skirt over slip.
DRESS FINISHING
STEP 1: Sew 2 sets hooks and eyes to back dress opening: one set at neck edge and one set about 1” below. Place dress on doll.
STEP 2: Place an 18” piece of 3/8" white satin ribbon around doll’s waist. Tie into 3” bow in back. Trim ends on an angle.
SUN HAT
CROWN
Starting at top back of crown with light blue, ch 2.
RND 1 (right side): Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join to 1st sc (6 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 2: Work 2 sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join (12 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 3: Sc in same sc as joining, * 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc; rep from * around to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, join (18 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 4: Sc in same sc as joining and next sc, * 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc; rep from * around to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, join (24 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 5: Sc in same sc as joining and next 2 sc, * 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc; rep from * around to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, join (30 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.

BRIM

HAT FINISHING
STEP 1: Cut an 18” piece of 3/8" white satin ribbon. Using tapestry needle, hold hat joining seam to the back and, starting and ending on the right, weave ribbon through sps between Hat Crown and Brim. Do not tie.
STEP 2: Place hat on doll’s head with crown holes over ears. Pull ribbon ends so hat fits and tie a 2 1/2” bow on the right. Trim ribbon ends on an angle. Remove ribbons from ponytails and place hat on head.
STEP 3 (flowers — make 4): With medium pink, ch 4. SI st in 4th ch from hook (flower center ch), (ch 3, sl st in flower center ch) 3 times. Finish off, weave in ends. Use 3 flowers for hat and set 1 aside for flower pot.
STEP 4 (leaves — make 3): With bright green, ch 6. SI st in 2nd ch from hook and next 4 chs. Finish off, tie 2 ends tog tightly and trim close.
STEP 5: Hot glue 3 flowers in a cluster to left side of hat. Hot glue base of 1 leaf between each 2 flowers.
FLOWERPOT
RND 1 (base): Using rust and starting at center of base, work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join to 1st sc (6 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 2: Work 2 sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join (12 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 3: Sc in same sc as joining, * 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc; rep from * around to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, join (18 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 4 (sides): Working in back Ip of sts for this rnd only (front Ips rem unworked — for edge of base), sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join (18 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RNDS 5-6: Sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join (18 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 7: Sc in same sc as joining and next sc, * 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc; rep from * around to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, join (24 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RNDS 8-10: Sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join (24 sc). Ch 1, do not turn. At end of Rnd 10, ch 2 (in place of ch 1), turn.
RND 11: Working in back Ip of sts only (front Ips rem unworked — for top edge), sk joining sI st, hdc in each sc around, join to top of beg ch-2 (24 hdc — not counting beg ch-2). Finish off, weave in ends.
FLOWERPOT FINISHING
STEP 1: Fold Flowerpot Rnd 11 down over sides.
STEP 2 (stem): Join bright green to center underside of remaining medium pink flower, ch 8. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each rem ch across, join to center underside of flower. Finish off, weave in ends.
STEP 3 (leaves — make 2): With bright green, ch 21. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and next 4 chs, sI st in next 10 chs, sc in last 5 chs. Finish off, weave in ends.
STEP 4: Fold 1 leaf in half. Hot glue center of leaf to inside bottom of flowerpot with ends of leaf extending upward. Fold 2nd leaf in half. Hot glue center of this leaf crosswise over center of 1st leaf at bottom of flowerpot. Hot glue bottom end of flower stem to center of leaves at bottom of flowerpot.
STEP 5: Using two 4” pieces of yarn to match skirt, tie joining seam of flower pot to front of skirt slightly to the right of center, between Skirt Rnds 8 and 9 and between Rnds 9 and 10. Tie each set of yarn ends in a double knot on wrong side of skirt. Trim ends close. Place doll’s right hand on side of pot.
