SPECIAL STITCH: js (jump stitch): Draw up a lp in next st of previous row, below the row you are working - 2 lps
now on hook, yo and draw through both lps on hook. Do not work in the current row behind js. This will create the zigzag pattern on dress.
TUNIC
Starting around lower edge of tunic with ecru crochet cotton and size 2 steel crochet hook, ch 72. Being careful not to twist ch, join with sl st to first ch to form a circle, ch 1.
RND 1 (right side): Working in top 2 lps, sc in same ch as joining and each rem ch around, join with sl st to first sc (72 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RNDS 2-4: Sk joining sl st, sc in each sc around, join to first sc (72 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RND 5: Sk joining sl st, sc in first 17 sc, dec over next 2 sc (to dec: draw up a lp in next 2 sts – 3 lps now on hook, yo and draw through all 3 lps on hook), sc in next 34 sc, dec over next 2 sc, sc in last 17 sc, join (70 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RNDS 6-10: Rep Rnd 2 two times (70 sc).
RND 11: Sk joining sl st, sc in first 16 sc, dec over next 2 sc, sc in next 34 sc, dec over next 2 sc, sc in last 16 sc, join (68 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RNDS 12-14: Rep Rnd 2 three times (68 sc).

ROW 42: Sc in each sc across (11 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 43: Dec over first 2 sc, sc in each rem sc across (10 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROWS 44-49: Sc in each sc across (10 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 50: Sc in first 9 sc, 2 sc in last sc (11 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROWS 51-53: Sc in each sc across (11 sc). Ch 1, turn. At end of Row 53, do not ch 1, turn.
ROW 54: Sl st in first 7 sc (for back of neck), ch 1, sc in last 4 sc (4 sc). Ch 1, turn.

FRONT
With right side facing you, sk first 2 unworked sc from Tunic Row 40 (for left underarm), join crochet cotton to next sc, ch 1.
ROW 41: Sc in same sc as joining and next 29 sc, sk last 2 unworked sc (for right underarm) (30 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 42: Sc in each sc across (30 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROWS 43-45: Dec over first 2 sc, sc across to last 2 sc, dec over last 2 sc. (There will be 2 fewer sc per row. At end of Row 45, there will be 24 sc.) Ch 1, turn.
ROW 46: Sc in first 5 sc, dec over next 2 sc, sc in next 10 sc, dec over next 2 sc, sc in last 5 sc (22 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROWS 47-50: Sc in each sc across (22 sc). Ch 1, turn.
LEFT FRONT SHOULDER
ROW 51: Sc in first 7 sc, sk remainder of row (for front neck and right shoulder) (7 sc). Do not ch, turn.
ROW 52: Sk first sc, sc in last 6 sc (6 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 53: Sc in each sc across (6 sc). Do not ch, turn.
ROW 54: Sk first sc, sc in last 5 sc (5 sc). Ch 1, turn.

With right side facing you, sk first 8 unworked sc from Tunic Front Row 50 (for front neck), join crochet cotton to next sc, ch 1.
ROW 51: Sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc across (7 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 52: Sc in each sc across (7 sc). Do not ch, turn.
ROW 53: Sk first sc, sc in last 6 sc (6 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 54: Sc in each sc across (6 sc). Do not ch, turn.
ROW 55: Sk first sc, sc in last 5 sc (5 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 56: Sc in each sc across (5 sc). Do not ch, turn.
ROW 57: Sk first sc, sc in last 4 sc (4 sc). Finish off same as for Left Front Shoulder.
SLEEVES (make 2)
With right side and bottom edge of tunic facing you, join crochet cotton to 2nd unworked sc at underarm, ch 1.
RND 1: Sc in same sc as joining, work 30 sc evenly spaced in row ends around armhole, sc in last unworked sc at underarm, join to first sc (32 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RND 2: Sk joining sl st, sc in each sc around, join (32 sc). Ch 1, turn.
(Note: You will now begin working back and forth in short rows.)

ROW 3: Sk joining sl st, sc in first 24 sc, (mark first sc with a small safety pin for joining st in Sleeve Row 7), sl st in next sc, sk remainder of rnd (24 sc, 1 sl st). Do not ch, turn.
ROW 4: Sk first sl st, sl st in next sc, sc in next 16 sc, sl st in next sc, sk remainder of row (16 sc, 2 sl sts). Do not ch, turn.
ROW 5: Sk first sl st, sl st in next sc, sc in next 14 sc, sl st in next sc, sk next sl st (14 sc, 2 sl sts). Do not ch, turn.
ROW 6: Sk first sl st, sl st in next sc, sc in next 12 sc, sl st in next sc, sk next sl st (12 sc, 2 sl sts). Do not ch, turn.
ROW 7: Sk first sl st, sl st in next sc, sc in next 11 sc, sc in next 3 sl sts (from Sleeve Rows 4-6), sk next sl st, sc in last 7 sc (from Sleeve Rnd 2), join to marked sc from Row 3 (21 sc). Ch 1, turn.

RND 8: Sk joining sl st, sc in first 21 sc, sc in next 3 sl sts (from Sleeve Rows 5-7), sk last sl st, sc in last 6 sc, join (30 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RNDS 9-20: Sk joining sl st, sc in each sc around, join (30 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RND 21 (fringe): Sk joining sl st, * (sl st, ch 8, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and next 6 chs) twice in next sc, (sl st, ch 8, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and next 6 chs) in next sc; rep from * around, join to first sl st (45 fringes). Finish off, weave in ends. (Note: Crocheted fringe will curl. Moisten fringe and straighten. Let fringe dry.)
TUNIC BOTTOM FRINGE
With right side and back neck edge facing you, join crochet cotton to first ch at back joining seam, ch 1. Working around bottom edge of tunic, sk same ch as joining, * (sl st, ch 8, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and next 6 chs) twice in next ch, (sl st, ch 8, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and next 6 chs) in next ch; rep from * around, join to first sl st (108 fringes). Finish off, weave ends.
TUNIC FINISHING
STEP 1: Sew 4 sets silver hooks and eyes evenly spaced along back tunic opening, placing first set at neck edge.
STEP 2: Working around Tunic Rnd 1 (just above bottom fringe), using sewing needle and matching thread, sew one giant seed bead to every 2nd st around (36 beads).
STEP 3: Place tunic on doll.
SKIRT
Starting at waist edge, ch 38.
ROW 1 (right side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each rem ch across (37 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 2: Sc in each sc across (37 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 3: Sc in first 11 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 13 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in last 11 sc (39 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 4: Sc in each sc across (39 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 5: * Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * across (52 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 6: Sc in each sc across (52 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 7: * Sc in next 12 sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * across (56 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 8: Sc in each sc across (56 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 9: Sc in first 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in each sc across to last 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in last 4 sc (58 sc). Ch 1, turn.

RND 18: Sk joining sl st, sc in first 11 sc, 2 sc in next sc, * sc in next 12 sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * 2 times more, sc in last 11 sc, join (66 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RNDS 19-22: Sk joining sl st , sc in each sc around, join (66 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RND 23: Sk joining sl st, sc in first 12 sc, 2 sc in next sc, * sc in next 13 sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * 2 more times, sc in last 11 sc, join (70 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RNDS 24-62: Sk joining sl st, sc in each sc around, join (70 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RND 63 (fringe): Rep fringe same as for Sleeves Rnd 21 (105 fringes).
SKIRT FINISHING
Sew one hook and eye set to waist edge at back opening. Place skirt on doll under tunic.
SASH
Working across length of sash, ch 101.
ROW 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each rem ch across (100 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROWS 2-3: Sc in each sc across (100 sc). Ch 1, turn. At end of Row 3, ch 1, do not turn.
FRINGE
Rotate sash so end is facing up. Work (sl st, ch 8, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and next 6 chs) twice in each row end (6 fringes). Finish off, weave in ends. Rotate sash so opposite end is facing up. Join crochet cotton to end of first row. Rep fringe same as for opposite sash end.
SASH FINISHING
Lightly steam sash flat. Place sash around waist and tie in double knot at center front.
MOCCASINS (make 2)
Starting at center of sole, ch 14.
RND 1 (right side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and next 11 chs, 3 sc in last ch. Working around opposite side of starting ch, sc in next 12 sc, join to first sc (27 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 2: Sc in same sc as joining and next 11 sc, 3 sc in each of next 3 sc, sc in last 12 sc, join (33 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 3: Working in back lp of sts for this rnd only (front lps rem unworked – for edge of sole), sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join (33 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RND 4: Sk joining sl st, sc in next 16 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in last 16 sc, join (34 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RND 5: Sk joining sl st, sc in each sc around, join (34 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RND 6: Sk in joining sl st, sc in first 15 sc, (dec over next 2 sc) twice, sc in last 15 sc, join (32 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RND 7: Sk joining sl st, * sc next 6 sc, dec over next 2 sc, sc in next 6 sc **, (dec over next 2 sc) twice; rep from * to **, join (28 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RND 8: Sk joining sl st, * sc next 5 sc, dec over next 2 sc, sc in next 5 sc **, (dec over next 2 sc) twice; rep from * to **, join (24 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RND 9: Sk joining sl st, * sc next 4 sc, dec over next 2 sc, sc in next 4 sc **, (dec over next 2 sc) twice; rep from * to **, join (20 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RND 10 (fringe): Sk joining sl st, working in back lp of sts for this rnd only (front lps will be used for sl sts in Rnd 11), * (sl st, ch 4, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and next 2 chs) twice in next sc, (sl st, ch 4, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and next 2 chs) in next sc **; rep from * to ** 3 times more, sl st in next 4 sc; rep from * to ** 4 times, join to first sl st (24 fringes and 4 sl sts). Ch 1, turn.
RND 11: Flatten fringe down toward sole. Working in unworked lps from Moccasins Rnd 10, sl st in each st around, join (20 sl sts). Finish off, weave in ends.
MOCCASINS FINISHING
STEP 1: Using sewing needle and matching thread, sew 5 giant seed beads to top of each moccasin toe as shown in figure 1.

STEP 2: Remove black plastic shoes and place crocheted moccasins on doll’s feet.
HEADBAND
Working across length of headband, ch 101.
ROW 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each rem ch across (100 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 2: Sc in each sc across (100 sc). Finish off, weave in ends.
HEADBAND FINISHING
STEP 1: Lightly steam headband flat.
STEP 2: Remove fabric headband from doll’s head. Place crocheted headband around forehead and tie into double knot at back of head.
STEP 3: Insert one 3 3/4 in.; jewelry feather into headband knot.
NECKLACE
Thread 3 giant seed beads onto the center of a 10 in. piece of cord. Knot 2 ends of cord tog tightly just above the 3 beads. Thread 6 more beads on each end of cord. Push beads tog tightly against knot. Knot each piece of cord against beads. Set this strand aside. Thread 15 beads onto the center of a second 10 in. piece of cord. Push beads tog and knot each end of cord against beads. Tie the 2 cords tog as shown in below figure. Tie necklace around doll’s neck.

BRACELET
String 16 giant seed beads onto center of an 8" piece of cord. Tie beads tightly around doll’s left wrist. String 3 more beads on one end of cord. Push beads tog tightly against knot and knot end of cord against beads. String 3 beads on other end and rep procedure (above figure). Trim ends of cord close to knot. Slide bracelet onto wrist.Beaded Belt (optional)
String all remaining giant seed beads onto a 12" piece of cord.
