- Packaging Production Artist
- Job Summary:
- Support FCM‘s marketing product strategy by supporting existing branding and departmental support for production tasks. As new products are introduced, Packaging Production Artists ensure brand consistency and integrity by applying pre-designed packaging formats and branding. Respond to the requests of the Visual Merchandising Director.
- Description:
- Our fast-paced graphic design department has an opening for a Packaging Production Artist with proven packaging design expertise and instinctive creativity working with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator on a Macintosh OSX platform.
Duties include designing and creating production-ready packaging artwork, logos and package branding, working with digital photography, sell sheets, catalogs and corporate collateral materials. Experience creating and engineering packaging die lines is a plus. Project management and working within deadlines are required.

- Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Degree in a directly related field or equivalent work experience (artistic, Graphic Design an or consumer product packaging).
- Excellent ability to work with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Demonstrated organization skills (ideas, files, samples).
- Able to communicate your ideas effectively to other members of the Design team and management.
- Experience creating packaging-ready artwork, logos, and branding.
- Have used digital photography to produce artwork.
- Conscientious about deadlines and details.

- Sourcing and Quality Control Specialist
- Job Summary:
- This position is responsible for supplier sourcing on new and existing items as well as developing and communicating product quality standards.
- Key Responsibilities:

Sourcing:
- Responsible for determining current product items needed to be evaluated for better procurement solutions.
- Researches, identifies, and recommends potential alternative manufacturing suppliers.
- Initiates communication with determined supplier to express companyfs goals, objectives, needs, requirements and timeline to fulfill our product manufacturing solution.
- Review supplier analysis with Marketing and sales to ensure recommendation supports customer specifications.
- Responsible for implementing approved supplier program and follow through on transition details including updating internal database information and communicating with necessary departments.

Product Specifications:
- Responsible for implementation of Produce Lifecycle Management software on all existing items. Includes bills of material, product specifications, artwork and packaging requirements.
- Works with marketing/new product development to insure all new items are set up properly and specifications are complete/correct before the initial purchase orders are placed.
- Responsible for set-up of special pack items and communicating with vendors to insure accuracy of item master data.
- Utilize packaging optimization software to minimize master carton dimensions.

Quality Control:
- Primary responsibility for quality control at destination (Fibre-Craft). Includes product inspection and match to original specifications.
- Log and track QC program inspections and address identified QC problems through a chargeback process.
- Determine course of action to resolve the QC problem including working with internal departments and/or supplier for resolution options.
- Log and track QC problems and associated fines through vendor performance reviews.
- Provides coordination of duties with other team members as assigned.

- Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Business or International sourcing.
- 2-5 years work experience in similar role for a consumer product distributor.
- International component sourcing experience.
- Must be knowledgeable of the HTS (Harmonized Tariff System) requirements.
- Knowledgeable about C-TPAT regulations and requirements for overseas product manufacturing.
- Excellent spreadsheet ability for analysis of acquired cost data.
- Advanced experience using Micro Soft Office Products: Excel and Word.
- Demonstrated ability to articulate thoughts and concepts using verbal and written communication styles.
- Able to prioritize and organize work demands so as to meet all deadlines.
- Understanding of general financial impact of sourcing costs relating to product manufacturing and margin determination.
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management Software.
- Need to attend manufacturing and industry conventions through out the year.
- International travel required 2-4 times a year.

- Import Coordinator
- Job Summary:
- Is the single source of information and communication to marketing and sales, relating to direct import, domestic import, purchase order processing, container review and product tariff code.
- Key Responsibilities:

Direct Import:
- Converts direct import sales orders to purchase orders and communicates to vendors on a timely basis.
- Maintains vendor manuals for all direct import customers and communicates requirements and changes to requirements to all vendors.

Import Traffic:
- Tracks orders for domestic deliveries to insure goods are delivered on a timely basis.
- Responsible for the approval of freight shipment bookings from Orient to FCM.
- Controls timing of product delivery to FCM.
- Evaluates for the need of air shipment.
- Responsible for the Inbound Domestic Receiving Container Schedule and communicates priorities to the receiving department.
- Maintains vendor scorecard measures regarding time to confirm, variances between confirmed and actual ship dates as well as total lead time.

Duty Rates & Tariff Codes:
- Responsible for ongoing review of Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) codes for all products in system as well as assigning new products their HTS code. This may include re-categorizing of a product and authorize the update to our system.
- Coordinates with Marketing and Customs Broker to review product HTS code to ensure correct duty tax is to be applied. May also work with U.S. Customs directly to obtain a binding ruling on product as needed.
- Annual review with accounting proper HTS classification at time of cost roll.

- Requirements:
- Prior import work experience of 2-3 years required in a consumer product company.
- General business degree required.
- Able to keep work organized.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately enter data into AS/400 system.
- Strong detail consciousness of information coming in and going out (vendor manual, database integrity.)
- Persistent: able to diligently follow up and achieve an answer to the question being pursued.
- Able to express in writing (e-mail) to retrieve necessary information on a timely basis.
- Verbally express desired information or correspond with other team members.
- Must have exceptional demonstrated Excel aptitude. Preferred experience with the following software: AS/400, MS Word, MS Outlook (similar program.)
- Advanced knowledge of U.S. import and customs rules and regulations.
- Able to problem solve mid level import decisions on an on-demand basis.
